Thankfully, the applications are more simplified these days, but you still need to know what styles are in and which should stay in the past. Before tackling this time consuming process, check out these tips on how to choose the right wallpaper so you can have fabulous décor the first time around.br />br />h2>Choose Your Texture/h2>br />Wallpaper comes in all sorts of textiles and textures and some are heavier than others. For Victorian or country-style rooms heavier wallpaper will work, but for chic, modern and romantic looks, opt for a light weight paper as the heavier ones can enclose a small space and make the room look less light.br />br />By far vinyl wallpaper is the most preferred because it is the easiest to put up, clean, and most importantly, the least challenging to remove when you tire of the look or if you place it on the walls and then hate it.br />br />Those made from flock or foils are amazing and will offer the room a glossy and metallic look while wallpaper comprised of natural materials such as bamboo are difficult to work with but are the in thing for chic and modern (or earthy-crunchy) looks.br />br />h2>Patterns Can Make or Break Your Project/h2>br />Also take into consideration the patterns of the paper you are choosing between. Wallpaper is available in plain, as well as vibrant prints and colors. Know ahead of time that the papers with large prints can be difficult to match exactly and there will likely be a lot of tedious and time consuming cutting involved if you want it to look perfect. The same goes for patterns that repeat themselves. If you are advantageous enough, these wallpapers can really add dimension and character to any room, but are definitely not for the faint of heart or for hurried jobs.br />br />In older houses it is likely that the walls will not be even or perfectly square and if you choose a pattern that is horizontal, it will magnify any defects on the walls including cracks and shifts from the house settling over the years. For older homes or rooms that are oddly shaped it is recommended to go with solid colored wallpaper and then if you must have a splash of pattern either add thin borders or try your hand at stenciling.br />br />Rooms with un-vaulted or low ceilings can get a larger look by using patterns that are vertical as they will force the eyes to look upwards. Avoid horizontal patterns in small rooms or for rooms with low ceilings as this will make the space look smaller than it already is. Also avoid large patterns in small rooms as they will be overbearing. br />br />h2>Choose Your Rooms Wisely/h2>br />There are some rooms within a house that simply arent meant to be wallpapered. This is not to say they are off limits, but some things should be taken into consideration. It is always better to stay with paint in bathrooms as they collect a lot of moisture, but if you feel that you absolutely must wallpaper it, choose one that is specifically made for moisture areas and that are water resistant or you will end up with huge bubbles underneath or it will peel in no time.br />br />For kitchen areas it is best to select wallpapers that are bold or darkly covered to hide splatters and because they clean easily. Off white or pinks will show everything and are difficult to keep clean. It is also a good idea to choose a vinyl or lighter wallpaper because these trap fewer odors than a bamboo brand.br />br />Naturally if you are wallpapering a room where children will be, you should choose one that is stain resistant, durable (avoid cloth or fabric textiles) and easily cleaned.br />br /> /div> div idright> div classbox> ul> li>a hrefhttp://www.nicewallpaper.com/ titleNice Wallpaper>Home/a>/li> /ul> /div> div classbox> /div> /div> div idfooter> © Copyright 2001 - 2024 a hrefhttp://www.nicewallpaper.com/>Nice Wallpaper/a> a href/contact/>Contact/a> a href/privacy/>Privacy/a> a href/tos/>Terms of service/a>br /> /div> /div>/body>/html>
