In Chapter 7, I discussed the career of Gavin de Becker and his company, Gavin de Becker & Associates. Neither Mr. de Becker nor anyone from his firm agreed to be interviewed for my book. Although at the time of the publication of the book I believed the information about Mr. de Becker to be true, I now am aware that several of the statements about him and his company were not true and some might be subject to misinterpretation. In particular, although I never intended this, one passage may be read to imply that Mr. de Becker advises clients not to report threats to law enforcement so that he can increase fees to his firm.
