The main draw is of course the large white sandy beach along the Atlantic Ocean shoreline. The beach in Belmar is nice and wide, is kept quite tidy by the town and is backed by a boardwalk that separates Ocean Ave from the beach. Here you can find bathrooms, numerous shops, the Belmar Fishing Club and parking (but get there early in the summer if you want a parking space!)./p>                p>The Taylor Pavillion and the Huisman Gazebo are also located on the boardwalk. This is where numerous summer events are held or are centered around: the annual Seafood Festival, the Social Dance Series, summer band concerts and more./p>                p>Just a few blocks from the beach is the Main Street shopping district. It has a unique collection of local businesses, which includes numerous restaurants, coffee shops and other eateries. If you want to spend some time shopping, Belmars small town charm might entice you into taking a casual walk along Main Street where you can peak in on a variety of eclectic but interesting shops./p>                p>There are of course numerous hotels, bed and breakfasts and home rentals available for you to find just the right place to stay. While many people do stay overnight, or for a week or more, there are also plenty of daytrippers that visit from northern NJ, especially on summer weekends. The town welcomes both kinds of vacationers by providing the amenities that either type of visitor may need while they you are in Belmar./p>                p>Some of Belmars visitors are not beach tourists but come to go fishing. The Belmar Marina is located near the mouth of the Shark River, which is on the western side of town, and has berths that offer numerous charter boats and party boats.
