I will be glad to help you plan your Brooks Range outing through our No Guides No Gear program. We can get you started with a few good seed ideas for a minimum investment or assist you through the entire planning and preparation parts of your outing. I have had over 40 years of experience in the Brooks Range, I know I can save you time and headaches with your upcoming arctic experience./p> p classwelcome>The pandemic was obviously a difficult time and will be a classic inflection moment for Wilderness Alaska. However, during the seasons away from guiding, I have been able to reconnect with the Brooks Range in a way that I have not done in decades, so I guess this is the lemonade from the Covid lemons. I realize that time moves quickly and witnessing the dramatic change occurring in the Arctic, I feel like this is the time that I need to be committing to more personal explorations of the Arctic Refuge. Over several decades this has been a favorite place for me. The place is changing and the travel industry is changing. For the first 30 years I operated in the Brooks Range, it would have never occurred to use the word industry and what we did in the same sentence. The rigors of the business have distracted me from getting the most of my time there. In the shrewd words of an American legend, Kenny Rogers, its as simple as,/p> p>“Youve got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away, know when to run.”/p>/div>/div>div classsection gallerybox id2020_slideshow> h2>2020, THE SUMMER IN PHOTOS/h2> div classgallery-wrap>div classslideshow-container> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_01.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 1> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_02.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 2> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_03.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 3> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_04.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 4> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_05.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 5> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_06.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 6> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_07.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 7> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_08.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 8> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_09.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 9> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_10.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 10> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_11.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 11> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_12.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 12> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_13.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 13> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_14.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 14> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_15.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 15> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_16.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 16> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_17.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 17> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_18.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 18> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_19.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 19> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_20.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 20> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_21.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 21> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_22.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 22> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_23.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 23> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_24.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 24> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_25.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 25> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_26.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 26> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_27.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 27> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_28.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 28> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_29.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 29> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_30.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 30> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_31.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 31> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_32.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 32> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_33.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 33> /div> div classmySlides fade> img srcimg/slideshows/2020/2020_34.jpg alt2020 Slideshow - Image 34> /div> a classprev onclickplusSlides(-1)>❮/a> a classnext onclickplusSlides(1)>❯/a>/div>/div>/div>video controls classtimelapse width100%>source srcimg/wind_river_auroras.mp4 typevideo/mp4>/video>div classsection>div>h2 classsmaller>Guided Adventures in the Last Frontier - Since 1972!/h2>p>Since 1972, Wilderness Alaska has safely conducted quality exploration and educational trips across the width and breadth of Alaska's Brooks Range. Our nation's largest wilderness mountain range is located above the Arctic Circle and covers more than 75,000 square miles of northern Alaska. This magnificent and rarely visited region embraces unique wildlife communities, uninterrupted vistas and nameless expanses. But even more importantly, these inviting mountains and valleys offer a freedom and a sense of wonder and fulfillment to those willing to take the country on its own terms - to those who will wade an icy stream and huff their way to the high alpine splendor of the Arctic./p>p>Wilderness Alaska has the experience, safety record, personal service and attention to individual goals to make your trip the special adventure you want it to be. We specialize in small personalized trips to rarely visited regions./p>p>Along with the adventure and sheer euphoria of just being there, each of our trips tries to focus on an individual species, a particular phase of their life history or general natural history and examine it from the unique arctic perspective. Along the way of our casual examination into these lives you will see an intricate web of life woven here and though we may be looking at caribou, we may become equally familiar with grizzlies, golden plovers and woolly louseworts. We hope afterwards our adventure will have animated the delicate mysteries that unfold in the high arctic. With scenery and wildlife at their apogee, the experience of a lifetime awaits./p>/div>/div>div classsection>a hrefhttps://share.delorme.com/macgilladams>img altWhere is Wilderness Alaska? classleft srcimg/whereiswildernessalaska.gif titleFollow Wilderness Alaska />/a>p classnote>Follow Wilderness Alaska as we post our location on a hrefhttps://share.delorme.com/macgilladams>https://share.delorme.com/macgilladams/a>!
