Acoustic」と言うアルバム。その名の通りアコースティック楽器を中心として女性ボーカルを世界中から集めたコンピレーションで、フランス、チェコ、アイスランド、ブラジル、アルジェリア、クロアチア、コロンビア、ギリシャなどの音楽を楽しめる。私のお気に入りはカメルーンのKaissaの「Wa」と言う曲。エキゾチックなボーカルと音作りはゾクゾクする。br />br />Putumayoの良いところはアルバムアートのファンキーさや選曲のセンスもさることながら、音質が極めて良いこと。ブックシェルフで聴いてもよし、フルレンジのフロア型で聴いても破綻することなく、バランスの取れたセンスの良い録音ばかり。日本のアマゾンでも取り扱っているので、取りあえず「Women of the World - Acoustic」から聴いてみることをお勧めしたい。 br Imperial Grand」と言うスピーカー。Klimtシリーズと同じ（？）フラットドライバーが使われているのが特徴。価格は$9,000なのでSonus faber Cremona Mとほぼ同価格帯で競合するモデルになる。br />br />しかしこれはThe Kiss ($15,000) と Beethoven Concert Grand ($5,500)の間の価格ギャップを埋める為だけに造られたモデルなのだろう。キャビネットデザインはGrandシリーズと共通で、フラットコーンを前提としたKlimtのキャビネットとは事情が大分異なる。スピーカーというのは全体のパッケージングデザインが重要で、コーンの特性にあったキャビネット設計は性能を大きく左右する。マーケティング上の理由で突貫工事で設計された感が否めず、これを買うくらいならばGrandシリーズ全体が刷新されてからの方が良いだろう。 DVP-NS9100ESというシンプルな構成だ。この２台で過去３年間は随分素晴らしい音楽を聴かせてもらった。ここアメリカではソニーは既にESシリーズを販売しておらず、オーディオに関してはこれが恐らく私のソニーとの最後の付き合いになる可能性が大きい。S-Master Proの音は個人的に高く評価していたのに、途中からデジタルアンプを無かった事にしたいようなソニーの態度に不信感を覚えていたのでちょうど良い。br />br />現在待機中のMcIntosh MVP871とアナログマルチチャンネルのプリアンプMcIntosh C45が未だに稼働していないのは、まだマルチチャンネルアンプが決まっていないから。積極的に探していないのは、ソニーが未だに動いていることと、この音がとても気に入っているからである。br />br />実は今年のCESにてMcIntoshから新型のマルチチャンネルアンプが発表されるとあって、期待していた。そしてベールを脱いだそいつはこんな姿をしていた。br />center>a 7のマルチチャンネルアンプだがトレードマークのブルーメーターをデジタルLEDメーターに変更、そしてシャシーを簡素化して低価格化を図ったモデルとのこと。低価格化、と言っても現行のMC207と比較してたったの$2000の差であって、安っぽい筐体と何と言ってもブルーメーターが省かれたモデルとあって、個人的にはあまり食指は動かない。いや、実はブルーメーターなど無くても良いのだが、このLEDメーターは写真で見る限り気持ちが悪い。いっその事メーターなど省いてもらっても良かったのだが。将来的にMcIntoshを買うとしたら、中古でもやはりMC205かMC207のどちらかにするであろう。ただし、特にMcIntoshでなければならないと思っている訳でも無いので、気長に考えるとしよう。 />今日のシアトル地方は初雪。私の家の近所では２センチ程度しか積もっていないが、隣り街では１５センチ程度積もったらしい。シアトルは寒い印象があるが実は日本海流のお陰で冬は雨は多いが温暖で、雪は年に１、２度程度しか降らない。しかしサンフランシスコ並みに坂が多い街なので雪が降ると交通はストップ。明日月曜はどれくらいの人が出勤してくるのだろう。br />br />そんな寒く静かな雪の日曜の朝は、リビングで真空管に灯を入れ新しく導入したパン焼き器でパンが焼き上がるのを待ちながらぼんやり音楽を聴いていた。しかし私は寒い日は何故かAlia Voxの作品を聴きたくなるので2階のマルチチャンネルの部屋に引きこもる事にした。Alia Voxは残響の多い場所での録音が多く、マルチチャンネルで聴くのが一番その場を再現できるのだ。残響が多いと言っても風呂場のようではなく、荘厳で神聖な響き。古楽器が奏でる古楽の音色が一番栄える素晴らしい音である。br />br />音楽を聴きながらふとAlia Voxのウェブサイトを覗いてみるとJordi Savallの妻のMontserrat Figuerasが昨年１１月に亡くなった事を知った。彼女のアルバムはAlia Voxから何枚から出ていて最近も一枚買っていたのだが、これが彼女の最後の作品になった。br />center>a hrefhttps://vacuumtube.exblog.jp/iv/detail/?s17626121&i201201%2F16%2F44%2Fb0185744_1549826.jpg />このアルバムは彼女が亡くなる２週間半前にリリースされた。録音自体は1988年から1990年にかけてだが、この時期に敢えてリリースしたSavallの想いに触れたような気がした。曲調も影があり淋しげなものばかりで、静かな雪の日に彼女の追悼として最後まで聴き通した。br />center>a FOLLIE」、これは2005年のリリースなので新譜でも何でも無いが、Savallの音の世界を楽しむにはもって来いの一枚だ。古楽器の美しい響きに包まれて、目を閉じればまるでそこにいるかのような素晴らしい音楽をエクスピリエンスできる。Alia Voxファンならストックしておきたい一枚。br />center>a Voxからバッハのブランデンブルグ。数ある古楽器によるブランデンブルグの録音の中でも一番のお気に入りで、演奏内容、音、録音全てにおいて素晴らしい出来栄え。このアルバムもやはりマルチチャンネルで聴くべきで、そのカラフルで美しい演奏を聴き終えた後は不思議な満足感とともに達成感も味わえる。br />br />パンが焼き上がった頃下に降りて同じブランデンブルグをMcIntosh/Elipsaで聴いて見たが、やはりマルチチャンネルとは表現力の点において明らかに劣る。やはりクラシック音楽は美しい響きがあってこそ心にしみる体験ができるのだ、といつもながらの結論を再確認しながら、ホカホカの焼きたてパンを頬張っていた。br />br />それにしてもVienna Acousticsのスピーカーは４年目に入りますます素晴らしい音を聴かせてくれるようになった。シンフォニーを聴くにはハッキリ言ってこれ以上いらない。日本でもMaestro GrandとWaltz Grandの取り扱いが始まったようなので、VAをメインに使ってる人には是非VAでマルチチャンネルに挑戦してもらいたいと思う。 br classclear/> !--
