I have never seen an honest CV, defined as one which tells the less or fully unsuccessful events in lives, mine here no exception. We strive for greatness, if only on a paper which itself chronicles the illusions of those who have failed its achievement. A CV is an impersonal things. it does not reveal the misery side of professional life, nor does it touch on any reality of ones social, familial, emotional,span classApple-converted-space> /span>health, spiritual experiences etcspan classApple-converted-space> /span>/li> li classli6>Upon request: positions offered and not taken, positions in hand but disappearing,span classApple-converted-space> /span>bigger fish that got away, major firings etc ./li> li classli6>span classs1>br>/span>Our CV s are shiny masks of the idealized vocational self. Or is it sheer ego we polish? Protection against the vulnerabilities so many conceal? span classApple-converted-space> /span>We do not ordinarily talk about the might-have-been, those potentially life-changing chances that we missed or turned away from.
