We are two seekers, whose paths have happened to cross serendipitously for a 10-week spiritual adventure of sorts throughout India. Having both recently graduated college, we realized that the time was ripe to follow our travel itch instincts and learn all that we can from people and situations that are drastically different than our own. Were not sure what well find (or if well catch malaria!), but thats okay. Were on the road, and thats all that matters as we stumble and take a million little steps toward the mystery that is Life. Learn a little bit more about the two of us below./p> hr> h3>Who We Are/h3> div classrow> div classperson> img srcimg/danielle.jpg/> h4>Danielle Heitmann/h4> p>Im a 23 year-old ivy league graduate who has become a bit disillusioned with the world of success, image, and self-worship that I have been shown. I feel myself getting sucked into it; I definitely have those tendencies lodged deeply within my own nature. Yet I know that there is something more, calling me onward to a life rooted in peace, service, self-sacrifice, and love. I refer to that force as God, the ultimate creator, nurturer, and sustainer, and I am on a journey to know and love Him better. /p>p>So, recognizing that you only get one shot at life, and that I have relatively little to lose, I quit my job and am moving out of my apartment. I plan to backpack through India for a time of adventure and discovery during this summer. This is my first multimedia blog, and I share it with you, with hopes that my journey just might mean something to one of you, too. But maybe it wont. Thats okay, too. I just know I want to put these thoughts out there./p> /div> div classperson> img srcimg/justin.jpg/> h4>Justin Broglie/h4> p>I am a 22 year-old citizen-of-the-world with a desire to fully embody my potential as a human being and help others do the same. Since I was a young child, I have held a keen interest in understanding the purpose of human life. During the course of my inquiry, I have discovered our essential interconnectedness and interdependence with all of life. I feel that the underlying issue which prevents human communities and nations from developing non-violent and mutually-supportive relationships is a false sense of being fundamentally separate and different from each other and from the environment./p>p>Though I am very grateful for all I have learned in my 17 years of academic schooling in the Western world, I also feel that our fast-paced Western culture has become an instigator of this sort of isolation: our obsession with security and productivity and dependence upon external comforts and technology has alienated us from our environment, diminished our time for rest and relaxation, and emphasized competition over collaboration. Thus, I am spending my summer traveling in the wonderful land of India, with hopes of learning to be a little less addicted to my usual conveniences and comforts, to live life at a slower pace, and to more fully cherish the people I encounter./p> /div> /div> /div> /div> /div> iframe width100% height8000px srchttp://web.archive.org/web/20141223052439/http://beta.infozaic.com/embed/31 frameborder0>/iframe> div idfooter>NOTE: only the latest 30 posts are displayed here in order to minimize loading time; each post may be expanded/contracted by clicking the top bar.
