I took your vote of confidence very seriously and always attempted to represent your collective thoughts when considering matters before the Legislature. /p> p>As you are probably aware the Ohio Constitution limits the term of office of the members of the General Assembly therefore I left the Ohio House of Representatives on December 31, 2004./p> p> Since leaving the House I have filled my time working in several other important and worthwhile areas. While in the legislature I worked as an advocate for those who suffer from mental illness. I was asked to join, and I accepted a Board of Directors position with the Lucas County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board. I have also accepted a position on the Board of Directors of the Lutheran Home Society. Coming from the Christian perspective we serve the elderly and troubled youth in our community. In 2005 I was invited to join the Lucas County Board of Elections. After having been on the ballot as a candidate every two years over a 25 year period it is very interesting to be on the side of carrying out open, honest, and accurate elections. I of course continue to serve my 3000 clients at my insurance business./p> p>There is one new title, for which I am especially proud, that has come since leaving the legislature. The title is Grandpa. I now am the proud Grandfather of two beautiful girls and two handsome boys./p> p>At this time in my life I dont know if I will ever run for elected office again. I have found ways to serve my community, other than as an elected official, and they excite and challenge me.
