Jeremy Garrett received scholarship and graduated from one of the country’s most acclaimed institutions, the School of Visual Arts in New York City. There he majored in comic design and illustration. While in college, Garrett started his own commercial art/fine art studio located in Manhattans East Village and called it Black Work Studio.br>br> While being a classical trained fine artist, and heavily influenced by the Golden Era cartoons, Garrett’s commercial style naturally lends itself to cutting edge mix of urban grunge, comic book art with a touch of post-surrealism. Affluent collectors and top executives from Fortune 500 companies such as FedEx, ABC and by members of the Grand Lodge of New York’s Masonic Order are only a few collectors who enjoy his diversity as an artist. As an accomplished graphic designer he has worked with clients such as Kodak, Ralph Loren, Johnson and Johnson, Lockheed Martin and ABC News. His work has also been featured in publications throughout the country as well as the internationally acclaimed Japanese GQ.br>br> Garrett started tattooing while in college when tattooing in NYC was illegal. He learned the trade from Danny Brown Paolicelli, a peer at S.V.A. In February of 1997 on the day that tattooing was legalized in the City, Garrett converted part of his design studio into a tattoo parlor and called it Black Work Tattoos. It was a fortuitous career shift forever establishing Garrett as NYARTMAN - Gothams Inkslinging Superhero. Garrett founded the Tattoo Artist’s Guild in 2008, an international body of talented tattoo artists dedicated to elevating and advancing the art of tattooing.br>br> From 2000-2006 Garrett taught commercial art at the High School of Graphic Communication Arts, which was one New York City’s premier commercial art public high school. After which Garrett moved to Israel and once again return to his roots as traditional trained fine arts painter. His work was displayed in various galleries in Jerusalem and in 2007 he won a nationally sponsored Israeli artist grant. He and his family moved back to NYC in 2008.br>br> Beth Rivkah Lubavitch published his first illustrative children’s book, Chassie Learns about Chessed written by Chava Isacovitch in 2022. Garrett has since complimented his artistic skills with Rabbinical ordination in an endeavor to create more joy and light in the world. These days Garrett continues to use his art to bring as many smiles to as many faces as possible./p> /section> !------- testimonials ----------> section classtestimonials> h1>Testimonials/h1> p>Words from my clients./p> div classrow> div classtestimonial-col> img srcimages/refferencepictures/Rebbe%20sticker%20thumbnail.jpg> div> p>Mr Garrett illustraited a coloring book for me. At 16yrs old I made the mistake of getting tattooed on a whim and also being intoxicated, I ended with up a tattoo I did not like. For the next 31yrs I lived with my mistake, until I found NYARTMAN. Although I reside in Australia, Jeremy worked with me personally on what I wanted to achieve and on my arrival to NY, NYARTMAN free handed a tattoo over the old existing tattoo that I had lived with for years. It was hard for me to realize what the final result was going to be only seeing lines drawn on top of the old tattoo but I trusted Jeremy and he gave me the confidence in proceeding and seeing it through to the end. What a result, he exceeded any expectations I had by leaving me with a tattoo that Im proud off. NYARTMAN is a true artist who I would recommend in an instance if you are thinking of getting tattooed. I know he will be the only tattoo artist who will ever ink me again./p> h3>Chris S./h3> i classfa fa-star>/i> i classfa fa-star>/i> i classfa fa-star>/i> i classfa fa-star>/i> i classfa fa-star>/i> /div> /div> /div> /section> !-------- Call to Action ---------> section classcta> h1>Get Professionalbr> Illustration Servicesbr>Anywhere in the World!/h1> a hrefcontact.html classhero-btn>CONTACT ME/a> /section> !------------ footer -------------> section classfooter> h4>©script>document.write((new Date()).getFullYear())/script> Jeremy Garrett: Artist - Illustrator | a hrefhttp://www.blackworkstudio.com>Designed by Black Work Studio /a>/h4>p>All Rights Reserved.
