The original purpose of Jadel was to provide services for the creation and maintenance of custom electronic products. This included all phases from the original conception of the idea for the product, the initial design, breadboarding and prototyping required to develop the product, and finally to create the final product. These were mostly small-quantity custom devices to suit the needs of specific applications.br>br>Over time, as the needs of our clients changed, so did the services we provided. Companies began to request assistance with their data processing, many times based on the fact that their own data processing departments were used to maintain their full-blown accounting systems. However, they were unable to respond quickly to uncommon requests that related to data processing.br>br>One of these companies needed to complete a job in a matter of days that would have taken months if done by their in-house IT department. We did the task in the time required. Soon we were doing some of these functions simply because we could do them quicker for a much lower cost.br>br>The first substantial diversion from the electronics field came when customers requested assistance with scientific calculations that were perfect for the microcomputers of that period. For example, we have generated the physical/structuraltables for various assemblies of wire and cable, which generated manufacturing data and data tables for dozens of sales brochures.br>br>We then expanded this capability beyond simple structural specifications into the more complex area of generating performance specifications for related products, including the previously-mentioned wire and cable assemblies, but expanding to the calculations required to determine, for example, the thermal characteristics of insulated tubing and pipe. An extension of this centered on multiple insulated tubes which could transmit steam and other hot materials over distances where the jacket temperature could not exceed specified limits.br>br>We currently provide assistance in areas including website design, data management (mailing lists, sales prospect lists, etc.), custom programs to manage data or perform repetitive calculations, technical documentation and many other types of data management functions which would be too numerous to mention here./p>/div>div classcright>h5>Challenges/h5>p>We thrive on challenges, especially projects that have been turned down by others, including both in-house departments or companies offering to provide the required service or solution.br>br>One example (from our past accomplishments) relates to a company that sold a product line with thousands of part numbers, and multiple prices based on quantity. Additionally, there were multiple classifications of distributors, whereeach distributor class had its own pricing, including the price levels based on quantity.br>br>This company would have a mass price update several times per year.br>br>All of the pricing data, including the tens of thousands of items, quantities and distributor price levels, were contained on a large mainframe. Their I.T. department, with multiple employees being assigned to the job, would take between one and two months to complete. We proposed a method of transferring the mainframe data onto media which could then be transferred to our computer system, creating price updating programs to run against this data, printing a master price book for each of the different distributor levels for the company to have printed, and then providing the updated price files for the company to import into their mainframe. Instead of taking months, the job was performed in less than three days, including picking up the storage media with the data, and delivery of the master price books for copying and media containing the updated price files to update their mainframe data.br>/p>/div> !-- end of cright -->/div> !--end of class cols -->hr>p>h6>This is the home page for Jadel Electronics./h6>br>b>Note:/b> this site is a testbed for some of the website routines that have been investigated in prior years, so some of them will not work perfectly and others may have not yet been removedfrom this site.
