The items and scoring of DCS were adapted from the previously validated Pain Catastrophizing Scale by replacing the term pain with dizziness. All items are scored using a 5-point Likert scale, ranging from not at all to all the time. The DCS requires approximately a Grade 6 reading level and takes less than 5 minutes to complete.
