Materials and methods: The study is correlational cross-sectional. 102 workers from the civil construction sector were analyzed. The instruments used were the Nordic Kuorinka questionnaire to identify musculoskeletal symptoms and a data collection form that evaluated work absenteeism. Results: 76.47% of construction workers presented musculoskeletal symptoms, 44.12% indicated work absenteeism. Regarding nutritional status, 41.18% were overweight and 28.43% obese I. 60.78% of those evaluated reported being an operator with 8 working hours, whose seniority was greater than 3 years in 77.45% of the population. p values less than 0.05 were found when exploring the association between work absenteeism (Presence and frequency of absenteeism) and the dimension presence of musculoskelet
